Remember, Paul made it clear that our struggle is real and it’s not against flesh and blood!
“Our struggle is against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Paul encourages us to be strong in the Lord and His mighty power - dang that’s heavy - specifically calling us to action in the putting on of God’s Full Armor!
So let’s run to the WARdrobe, see what I did there, and grab more of our gear!
It’s time to suit up and boot up!
Because Paul didn’t say “IF”... he said “so that WHEN the day of evil comes”
Therefore, we know the strike is coming and we best be ready. We need a firm stance and a posture that will deflect the force of the enemies attack.
Paul courageously breathes out more Word here instructing us to also have our “feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”
The Gospel is the Good News of King Jesus taking on #injustice and accepting the responsibility of the #justice we deserve for our sin so that those of us now in the family of faith can actually stand firm no longer burdened with the weight of our previous ways.
And my interpretation of peace is surrendering to the fight that has already been won to realize the freedom I have as a prisoner and slave to Christ Jesus.
Side note 1: Peace and freedom are not the same. Topic for another day.
Side note 2: The example Jesus displays for us as men is both our burden and blessing as head of our marriage / home. NOT THE BOSS!!! We are and will be held accountable as husbands / fathers for fulfilling the ministry of our families.
What’s your story of surrender and are you reminding yourself of it daily ? Are you READY to share it with others?
Love y’all - keep in touch - and I super appreciate your continued encouragement in this ministry.
